My name is Captain Zach Jones. As a backcountry fishing enthusiast in the beautiful Florida Keys, I trailer my Beavertail Skiff Elite from Key Largo to Key West. I have an urge to find fish for people and love watching the excitement unfold as they land the fish of a lifetime.
I have been fishing ever since a child -I fell in love with the flats 9 years ago and never looked back.
It’s the feeling of stalking out the fish we catch that gets me going. I was born in North Carolina, hooking bass and chasing reds, fishing for trout in the Asheville Mountains. This place definitely stole me away because of its abundance of species and explosive action! I love all types of fishing and welcome all types, whether spinning or fly fishing I will put you on them.

My name is Mike Bennett and I’m excited about the opportunity to promote the WETFLY brand. I grew up in Northern Ohio, where fishing was a huge part of my life. I now study Environmental Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Alabama.
I started working in the fishing industry as soon as I was old enough to drive. I worked as a first mate on the EyeHooker, a Lake Erie charter fishing vessel. Not only was I living out my dream of getting payed to fish, but I was also learning a ton from my boss and mentor about being a fishing guide. I went on to earn my captain’s license in 2017, a “six pack” for inland, Great Lakes and near coastal waters. After finishing out this semester in Alabama, I’m beginning a position in Alaska at Wilderness Place Lodge. Come see us on Lake Creek this summer!
The sport of fishing has brought a lot of great things to my life, and I actively look for opportunities to share that with other people. In 2018, I re-established the Black Warrior River Chapter of Fishing’s Future. Fishing’s Future is a national organization that teaches families to fish and helps strengthen the family bond. Our Chapter is run by about 20 hard-working students at the University of Alabama. We believe that our education and fundraising efforts better our community and ensure the survival of the sport.
Look out for my guiding pictures and articles on WETFLY’s social media. I hope to see you on the water!
